Frequently Asked Questions

What is person-centred therapy?

Person-centred therapy is based on the belief that you are the expert on your own life. My role is not to direct or give advice, but to provide empathy, honesty, and respect so that you feel safe to explore your experiences. Together, we create the right conditions for healing, growth, and change.

What can I expect from a session?

Each session lasts 50 minutes and is led by you. We might explore your feelings, experiences, or patterns in your life – always at a pace that feels comfortable. Some people come with a clear focus, while others simply need space to untangle what’s on their mind. There is no right or wrong way to begin.

Where do sessions take place?

I offer in-person sessions at the The Natural Health Centre, Radbrook Green, Bank Farm Road, Shrewsbury, and also work online (via Zoom) for those who prefer or need to meet virtually.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies for everyone. Some people find a few sessions helpful, while others choose to work together over a longer period. We can review this regularly, and youre always free to decide what feels right for you.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. What you share in counselling remains private. There are rare exceptions – for example, if there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others – and I will always explain this clearly, so you feel safe and informed.

Do you work with everyone?

I work with adults (18+) from all backgrounds and experiences. If I feel another type of support might be more suitable for your needs, Ill always be honest and, where possible, suggest helpful alternatives.

How much does it cost?

Sessions are £50.00 each (50 minutes). I also offer a limited number of concessionary spaces for those on lower incomes.

How do I pay for sessions?

Payment is usually made by bank transfer. If you prefer to pay in cash at in-person sessions, that can also be arranged.

Do you offer counselling in other languages?

Yes. Alongside English, I speak Hindi and understand Punjabi and Urdu. While most sessions are held in English, I welcome clients who find it helpful to bring these languages into our work together.

How do I get started?

It can feel like a big step to begin therapy. Youre welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial conversation – a chance to ask questions, learn more about how I work, and see if I might be the right fit for you.
